Went out yesterday to sunset to toss baits for trout for a couple hours.
I started with my favorite wooly bugger presentation, and I had a fish on in minutes. It jumped and ran and put up a good fight until POP, he comes off. 5 casts later, another fish on, and he comes unbuttoned too. I start walking around, and hook into another nice fish. He is a jumper too, and right at the shoreline, he pops off the hook.
Ok, this is getting frustrating.
I proceed to hook two more trout on the wooly bugger, and they too, come off the hook.
I don't know what was happening. Maybe my hook was a bit dull, or my 4 lb line was streching to much, but even though they obviously wanted the wooly bugger, I had to change it up.
I switched to an inline spinner. First cast, I am trying to figure out where my line is going when I realize that my bait got swooped up, mid-air, by some sort of bird. I tug a bit, but the bird flies off, spooling me completely.
Good thing I brought an extra spool!
Re-rig my pole, tie on another spinner, and I'm on a fish finally.

I made a few more casts after that, but my time was running out, so I made a b-line for the truck and called it a day.
I was hoping to catch the trout plant, but I was only there from 8am til 9:45am. Im not even sure what day they stock, but I think it is tuesdays.
