(Minnetonka, MN) Are you a knot-head? The North American Fishing Club has just released Knot Wars, a super-simple illustrated video app for iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad users that puts 40 of the world's best fishing knots in the palm of your hand.

Based on the wildly-popular Knot Wars segment from the North American Fisherman television show which pits knot against knot in strength tests, Knot Wars-the app features clear, simple animated graphics for tying the very best fishing from three years of intense Knot Wars competition... We're knot worthy!

A standard version of the app is available for free, and a deluxe version is available for .99 cents. The full app covers all 40 of the featured knots!

It's a huge bummer when a big fish snaps your line, but it's 10 times worse if you find a little pigtail at the end indicating knot failure freed that lunker. Knot Wars broadens your knot know-how with perfect knots for all popular fishing lines.

"Even if you can already tie Palomars in the dark with fish slime on your nine good fingers, you will still get a huge kick out of Knot Wars, not to mention looking like the coolest kid in class when you whip this out on your phone in front of your fishing fanatic buddies," says Steve Pennaz, Executive Director of the North American Fishing Club and host of North American Fisherman TV.

Each knot has simple step-by-step narration and gorgeous animations that walk you through the tying process, along with cool trivia showing unique break strength info from the TV show tests for braid, mono and fluorocarbon, info that really sets this app apart from any other knot-tying source. Watch at your own pace for either quick reviews in the field or to master new knots whenever and wherever you have time.

"Technology is supposed to make your life easier, not harder," said Jim Stolis, Chief Enginerd at Hunt Geek, the Warsaw, Illinois-based company that teamed up with the North American Fishing Club to develop the new Knot Wars App. "Our apps are easier to load than a pocket protector and so simple you don't need instructions.

You can find knots sorted alphabetically or by knot type, read tips on each knot, and slide through the instructional videos at your own pace. Pause and resume playback with the swipe of a finger until you have mastered even the most complex knots.
