I don't fly fish, but for those that do, I thought I'd pass this along...

Was in Costco in Boise today, and they had four different models of G Loomis StreamDance GLX fly rods. The ones that cost $650-$680 each:

Costco's price was just under $200. Yes, these are the same rods. The display models still have the retail price stickers on them, and come with a carrying tube.

I would guess they are for Christmas only and they won't get any more once these are gone.

In southern ID, there are also Costco stores in Nampa, Twin Falls, and Pocatello. If you're in northern ID, there is a store in Coeur D'Alene, and on the Washington side in Spokane and Clarkston.

Might try calling one of those stores if they're closer to you. I'd be surprised if they didn't have the same deal going. There's a store locator on their web site that has numbers and addresses.

No such thing on any of their sites.
Might be some special deal for that store only. Usually NO ONE can mark down the name brand rods like that, unless they are discontinued, which Streamdance is not.
Take out a loan or whatever and buy a few, you could make some money on that.[]

Great sticks for flickin flies but remember loomis warranty sure isnt what it used to be. I've got a couple loomis rods left but I'm switching brands after the bs they have been pulling.

Costco has a lot of stuff in their stores that doesn't appear on their web site and vice versa. Since they're a bulk warehouse retailer, I doubt they'd be interested in merchandise they would only sell in one store.

If the other stores are closer, I think it's at least worth a call before driving all the way to Boise.

Loomis's warranty may not be what it used to be, but Costco offers a lifetime warranty on everything but certain types of electronics. So I think you're pretty well covered.

FYI, I did take a moment on my lunch hour today and walked thru the Nampa store and I either could not find them or it's a no go there.

In the Boise store, they're in the back with the rest of the big ticket Christmas gift stuff. I think the layout on the Nampa store is different, though.

Thanks for the info StacyR! Yesterday under the tree I found a brand new GLoomis Streamdance 6 wt, 9 '.

Here is how it made it's way from the North Pole (Boise) to Preston Idaho.

When you posted this I mentioned it to my wife and told her that was a heck of a deal and dropped it.

After I left she contacted my son in Pocatello and asked him to go look at the Poky store. He happened to be with one of the managers from that store at that time and he said they did not have them at the store. He called my wife back and let her know they were not available in Pocatello.

My wife then got on the phone and called the Boise store and one of the managers there confirmed that he had them but he could not put one in layaway because the store does not have a layaway policy. He was a real nice guy and gave her all the info on the rods left.

She called my son back because he had mentioned maybe his friend Bob who lives in Boise could pick one up for her. He called Bob and he dropped everything and run over to store and scored the last 6 wt for me.

The rest of the story is my surprised and happy face when I opened that shipping tube yesterday morning. What a nice rod!
