went to "farmington bay" the other day and the ducks were all over us like ugly on an ape. We had a flock of teal deek in after circling us 3 times and two of us ended up dropping five in six shots. Lucky enough they were all mature drakes. We put a few holes in the decoys but i guess it was worth it. It was constent shooting for about 2 hours until we were forced to quit. We ended up shooting mallards, golden eyeys, teal and one merganser.

Mallards and Goldeneyes, my two favorite ducks! I think a goldeneye is about the toughest duck out there to bring down but boy are they sure fun so see and hear coming! Good shootin!

they sure are tough little guys, fast too!! Its always fun to get scared to death when you hear them fly over you or hear them get up off the water too without seeing them first.

Awesome shoot. On the river in Idaho, we used to have days of nothing but drake goldeneyes when the mallards were not flying. i think they are more acrobatic than teal. and definitely the hardest duck to kill. I also think they are the easiest to decoy. we have had them drop from great heights to land in our spread. i think you could drag a string behind your boat and they would follow you.
