Got on the water about 8:30 this morning. WInd was blowing, but wasn't very bad to start. I headed up river to fish new water again. Found a great pocket that was loaded with fish, but they were all 15-20 ft deep and I forgot my dropshot rod at home . Fished in there with one pulldown, but nothing there when I set the hook. Went a bit further up river into a creek I'd never been in. Looked promising. Again one pulldown, but this time I got a hook in the fish. Stripped drag for just a few seconds and pulled loose. So now I head back down the lake to fish more familiar areas. It was slow for the first couple hours. 2lber here and there. I finally headed back into a creek I like to throw the float n fly and that seemed to be the ticket. I put 15 or so in the boat in this creek alone. 3 of those were easy 3lbers and one that was pushing 3 3/4lbs. Moved around a bit more and caught some smaller keepers, but still no big ones. Finally when I couldn't see the moutains in the distance ( from the snow), I figured I better hit the road. I had the truck backed down, but decided to fish a little pocket next to the ramp for a minute. Ended up putting another solid 3lber in the boat. That was it for the day. Put 20 spots in the boat today with a nice 15lb limit. Was disapointed that I couldn't find any monsters, but I'll get em next time I hope. I took one picture of my biggest today, I'll try and get it added.
