Michael, Tim, and I fished the Slab-fest in Dayton today. We decided to run down river and fish deep in search of bigger crappie. At our second stop, Tim caught our second keeper, a huge 3.2 pound crappie in 15 feet of water. She was a very healthy fish. She was just shy of 17 inches and had some massive shoulders. We hit quite a few other spots throughout the day concentrating on depths of 15 to 25 feet deep with some type of wood cover. We used a variety of baits in 1/16 and 1/8 oz. Good job to everyone who had a part in putting on this well ran tournament. Here is a pic of Tim’s personal best crappie. The other crappie he is holding weighed a little over two pounds.
