When I got off work Saturday I headed up to Melton Hill dam to see if the Rockfish were still biting (caught 5 nice ones 2 weeks ago and broke off 3). They were running one generator and thought conditions were right but could not get a bump on the swim baits. Picked up a purple/chart. tube and caught 8 nice crappie on a rock pile in 3-4 feet. Also caught several white bass and 1 8lb drum.

Sunday morning I was foolish enough to think that I could get a couple of hours in before the snows came (wrong!) so I put in at Ladd Landing and headed up the Clinch to a secret crappie hole. Ended up putting 7 crappie in the boat and must have caught 50 stripe, yellow bass and bluegill. Caught most of these on minnows but they would hit the 1/8 th oz tube too. All fish in less than 6' of water. Water temps 49-51 both days.
