i fished chesterfield today. roads were horrible getting there the road in is still not plowed. i managed toget my buddy's honda in and out though after my buddy got us stuck for a minute and we were helped out by some nice gentlemen. he isnt a very good driver i have come to find out. it was about 8:30am when we arrived popped up the eskimo2 punched only 2 holes in the ice wich is about 8 to 10 inches thick. we got the chairs setup and went to it. fishing was slower than normal for me at chesterfield with fish coming through about every 30 minutes i landed my first one 20 minutes in a nice bow that was over 17 inches long and extremely fat so i kept it for some supper. then preceded in hooking and losing 4 more over the next 3 1/2 hours finally landing my last fish wich was a couple inches longer and fatter than the first close to 11:45am. my buddy hooked 2 big ones that came off and landed a small one right towards the end. i was using a chartruese paddle bug tipped with a piece of nightcrawler and my buddy was using pink both got plenty of hits. didnt seem to matter about the color. .....
....... so i went to take pictures of the fish for the ice fishing contest with a meassuring tape and realized i left my camera, BFT.com logo and picture of myself at my moms on the counter along with my sunglass's so i just got pictures on my cellphone with the tape. i am still gonna be scoreless for the contest but i will still post the pictures on here as soon as i get them sent to my moms computer. (this is where im staying during the holidays.)

thanks guys.

Great detailed report CJ, I may get down there one more time before the season ends, however, there are just too many places to hit right now.

sorry i forgot to mention one thing that was important we were fishing in about 12 feet of water about a half a turn to a full turn off the bottom any higher and the fish didnt seem to be there. tried some deeper water and had nothing hit early on.

we went to chesterfield on friday and it was a little slow i caught one that was about 18 inches and my brother inlaw caught one that was about 12. we had serveral other bites but never could hook up. we were in about 10 to 12 feet of water and they were all hitting on cheese marshmallow on a white maniac minnow. i went to the mctucker gravel ponds just above american falls yesterday about a hour and a half before dark. i landed about eight and missed several others lost a golden trout that was about 18 in right at the hole. hope this can help every one.

Unless the storm is completely horendous in the morning, I will be making the trip back up. I'll take my time getting there, anchor the tent and fire up the heater. I'm sick of how slow it has been at Treasureton.[Wink]
