23 Dec 2010 –Lake Nickajack – I was joined today by Troy (aka T-Roy) Andrews. Water temps started out at 41.7 and by the days end we found some 44.8. This was a tough day by any measure, post front, blue bird skies, strong north wind and an air temp at the start of 32 degrees. We started out looking for a jerk bait and rattle trap bite. Nothing! Moved to soft plastics and started finding fish in 8-12 FOW rigging them on shaky heads. We ended up catching several fish in the 2-3 pound range and at the end of the day I have to admit Troy crashed me in total fish. We have dates available in January 2011 and have started booking trips for the spring. The Smallmouth fishing has picked up some on Tim’s Fords and below Nick-a-jack Dam as well, I’ll be back on Guntersville Monday.
