Please do not blame Ben Nadolski for the bad report that appeared briefly on the DWR website last week. The blame belongs to me. I had sent by mistake last years report to our Salt Lake Office to be posted. When we discovered the mistake on Friday morning our folks in Salt Lake quickly changed the report and sent new emails to those receive the reports by email.

I am sincerely sorry for any trouble that this has caused--especially to Ben--he is extremely dedicated and strives to provide great info to anglers.

Thanks for the update.
Mistakes do happen and the folks that have been on the ice
were quick to report the real ice thickness.

So you are why I fished East Canyon Friday and wondered where the heck the 4" of ice was?

Ah well we found some safe ice up Taylor Hollow, but we were keeping an eye on each other the whole day. The area we fished had 3" of clear ice with about 4" of frozen slush/cloudy ice.

I appreciate the quick responses by others. I was also out on the ice over the weekend checking ice conditions at Mantua, Hyrum, Newton and Cutler. Cutler was the only one of the four that did not have anglers on it when I was there--and for good reason--there was still some small open water areas. Hyrum was a little spoky with only two inches near the dam--I am sure that has changed since then.
