Decided I had better go fishing again today since i have got to get back to work tomorrow. All in all a pretty good day, lots of planter trout to keep you busy. We haven't really caught too many perch, but i would rather catch planter trout over dink perch anyway. We did catch a couple decent browns to top the day off. Ice is about four inches thick in most spots, but we did manage to find some that was only two, oh ya did I mention it was cold.

Nice report. What part of the lake were you targeting? How about depth? I didn't hook into a single rainbow last year, but was deep. Do they stay pretty shallow?

Hey, where's that pic of that super studly guy holding that huge bass?

Late fall they were flip flopping all over the surface. Snatching up flies and spoons left and right. Did great trolling the south side, orange seemed a hot color for fall.

Mostly in the 10-12 inch - fresh off the farm, don't know any better stage. Haven't found them, but deeper down is where I believe the bigger ones, and the browns reside.

Hooked up my first Tiger out of there a couple weeks back.

Generally I've found - perch along the SW corner. Seemed like out about the depth of the bouys. Also the coves from the camp area. Bass by the docks, and along the north side - by the cars. Then trouts all through the middle, but they seem to like the transition area from the inlet - where it goes from weeds, to open deeper water.
Spotted up lots by the cliff areas east of the swim zone.

But - I've had little luck finding those lunker bass you guys seem to get on! Need more targetting.... and fat worms.

I'll definitely want to work that ice this year. (it's a whole new world.....)
So what is it Lavaman? Newton/Hyrum?

I'm looking towards Willard's bays too - before the whole lake freezes up. Now if only I didn't have to go to work - really tends to interfere with my fishing time!
The rainbows are not usually too hard to catch, pretty much any small jig tipped with power bait should do the trick. I have found them anywhere from 10 to 30 ft deep, just try different depths til you find what is working. I have been catching fish just right off of the boat ramp, so just about any where you want to try I would say you should catch fish.
