This will be my first trip out ice fishing this winter. Guess I have been slackin a little. Hope the fish are biting. Will report when I return.

All I can say about Mackay is "Skunked". Five of us fished it today and we ended up with one 9" Koke and a 11" Cutt. Tons of people and nobody else was having any luck either.

Hope you at least had a nice drive. I have never been there after the first few weeks of ice. I would imagine its like most places and slows down.

I wish you better luck in your ice fishing adventures this year.

We are still driving, but it was ok. We fished it last year around the end of Jan and limited in no time. Guess it is just part of fishing. We should have hit Ririe. Maybe next time will be better.

Fished down by the dam today. Limited out in kokes. It took several hours. We caught quite a few really nice trout but put them back. Very nice day.

Does it still look like a small city out on the ice? I fish Mackay pretty often during the fall, but I've never been out there ice fishing. I look forward to trying it either next weekend, or the one following.

Those permanent ice houses are out there every year.
