Well for everyone wondering about the ice, it is plenty thick. As far as the fishing we managed three jumbo perch with about twenty five poles in the water between us and six hours of fishing, moving, and drilling holes everywhere. We did salvage the day down on the river with a few trout, most of them just little guys, but a couple decent brown

I hear you I was there friday with my dad and fished from 8:30 to 12:30 with only one fatty perch landed and somthing else hooked into... And multipal other bites.. The place is frustrating but when you finally get into them it sure is rewarding... Did you experience the crust there two.. I did and it bout scared me... Any one going there in the future here is a tip they start biting around 10 and stop around noon they could pick up again later I'm not sure as I was only there tell noon last time.... Oh and the ice is mostly safe I faild to mention in my last report!!!! There is a spot clost to the camp ground where I was walking and the ice started to bounce under my feet.... I'm sure it will thicken up soon but just be carfull out there... It's a big place and gets deep really fast...dont want to lose any fellow fishermen...any way keep it safe and catch some fish..

We didn't find any of the crusty ice, and the bite for us was first thing in the morning, I barely had my pole in the water and was getting bites. All the fish we caught were in the first hour then it was like they disappeared or just shut right down. I would like to get into some walleye though, I was wondering if they are more concentrated up in the head of the dam or maybe deeper than we tried. Anyone that could shed some light on these elusive fish would be greatly apreciated.

good job on proving the whole hotspoting thing wron this is a good example of what worked for some one else doesn't mean it will work for another.. And as for the crusty ice the stuf I came acros was by the dock at the camp ground.. And for the walleye I've caught them all over the res in the warm months never through the ice just perch..i was only fishing in about 10 to 15 feet of water though.. And it's very possible the eyes have gone alot deeper..

Yep, right now Oneida blows, litteraly, the wind blew the whole dang time. I was able to catch the biggest perch of my illustrious career and staring at riggs all day was nice but the fishing sucked! Anybody have any good stories from the weekend!
