Hath,
That reminds me of a time down to Yuba when we were catching 2 pound Perch. I am talking an honest 2lb. 14 1/2 inches they were probably 13 inches around. They were gigantic. The ice was about 5 inches and crystal clear, it kind of had a magnifying look to it. We were fishing in about 45ft of water. The week before we had hooked a few Jumbos that accidentally got off. So when we came back the next week they had set under the ice and in the sun and did a little more expanding so they even looked bigger than when we caught them. We mentioned and talked about it and walked on down to another spot down the lake. Here came these 2 old boys and they seen those 2 fish under the ice they preceeded to take there ice auger and drill trying to get them they must have poked 30 holes before they gave up on them. Every time they drilled the current would push them away. To them they looked like the biggest Perch they had ever seen. Must have been a couple of school teachers, funny as Hell.
