MINNEAPOLIS (Jan. 7, 2011) - Mix one part north-woods sportsman and fishing guide, one part outdoors educator and one part media personality, and what do you get? A great host for a professional walleye-fishing circuit. That's why the National Guard FLW Walleye Tour will have legendary outdoorsman Chip Leer serving as the stage host for the 2011 season.
Kathy Fennel, president, FLW Outdoors Operation Division, stated: "We are very excited about Chip joining FLW Outdoors and working with us this coming season. We believe his personality, experience and education will be a valuable asset to our Walleye Tour events."
Leer, who is one of the elite outdoor personalities in the industry, has been involved with fishing in numerous ways for more than 15 years. Leer has served as a guide on various fisheries of walleye legend including Lake Mille Lacs and Leech Lake in Minnesota. He has authored numerous fishing articles for various publications and has created and launched three fishing-themed publications. Leer also has served as a regular radio guest on programs throughout the country.
Leer may be known best as a television personality. Since 1992, he has been a regular host on Midwest Outdoors and has done work with various other television programs and regional outdoors shows. Leer is dedicated to the sport of fishing, works diligently behind the scenes and has been a host and stage emcee for multiple tournaments and events throughout his career.
