Had a partner back out on me ( via text) early this morning, so headed back up to Parksville. I knew it couldn't be a good ( numbers wise) as yesterday. Catching that many on a FnF is rare. Launched at safelight and headed down river. It was very slow for the majority of the day, but if you keft plugging away you would catch one here and there. After the first couple couples I only had two line burners to show for it. Then in the very back of a pocket I hooked my first good one of the day. It weighed 3.7lbs. Moved around a little hitting new to me areas when I hooked my first 5lb parksville spot. It weighed 5.2 lbs and was 21" long. So now i'm getting all excited. It was still slow, but managed a nice limit by 3pm. Then it got really good !! I found a beautiful flat on the main lake with a ditch running next to it and a great drop off the front of it. I figured there had to be one there. I watched my bobber sink really slowly and as soon as it was completely under, I set the hook and all I could do was hang on !!!! I knew it was big as soon as I set the hook. It made several huge long runs and refused to give up ! Took a good while, but I finally landed my new personal best spotted bass. 6.1 lbs !!! 24" long and was beautiful !!! Calmed down and casted to the same area, hung another good one !!! This one was 4.7lbs ! Now my smallest bass is 2.9lbs and I had two chances to cull it , but the hook pulled out. So Now i'm sitting on 22.5lbs with my best 5 ! I decide to go look for anyone who will take my picture with my fish !! Never found a single person anywhere !!!!! Decided to go back to fishing. Ended up catching another 7 spots and most of them were nice 2lbers. Was a very memerable day, just wish I had better pictures of my big one !!!
