Went to CJ Strike this morning from 8am until noon. Beautiful day unfortunately no fish. Water temperature was between 40-41 degrees in most areas. Marked most fish in the 50 foot range with the exception of some fish on the hump.
This was my first time fishing in Idaho since I moved here and it's definitely a different animal than what I'm used to. There were alot of boats and shore anglers on CJ today. Anyone have any luck?

Well the bite can be slow this time of year. I should be going to CJ in the next few days. I will report back.

Please do. I was also considering going up to Anderson Ranch to try my luck with the kokanee. Never fished for them and don't have a downrigger setup. If you ever want to go fishing let me know. I'll share gas expenses and lunch is on me.

well I went to CJ last afternoon. The bite was pretty slow but about what you would expect this time of year. Caught a few stockers of the face of the dam using trout bait w/ fishfood mixed in. I also hooked into two small perch. Overall not a bad day fishing.

i haven't been to strike in a few weeks due to the bad weekends we have had. i am a regular bass guy down there but will crappie fish on good days when the bass are done for winter. this has been a slow crappie year. we have caught 60 a few times but less more often this year. we usually stumble across a few trout on crappie gear. more than most people who troll for the day. in years past it was easy to catch 150-250 crappie during the winter. when bass are on it's easy to catch 100- 200 in a day there with 2 people. i can't wait for warmer weather for the bass to start again.

Hey Chris,
My wife and I went to Anderson R. last Thursday, and it wasn't worth the hassle. Bad roads, ramp by the dam not accesible, very messy! We were going after early season trout at the creek mouths, but threw in the towel. I wouldn't even bother with kokanee this early. Wait until later in the season. The trout fishing will be gettin better, I am sure, in a few weeks at C.J. It was terrific last fall. Limits of big fish every trip. By the way, we may have very well run into the missing fellow from Rexburg down at Anderson Ranch. We are working with the Rexburg police. Let you know if anything develops. Mike

I was using cowbells with wedding ring, worm and a piece of corn. (also and little scent on it) One on top and one 10-15 feet.
My budding had a rapala up high.
Everything caught about the same amount of fish.
2 weeks ago we did well out in the main reservoir where the snake and the bruneau water was mixing. The line where the water temp changed.
Last week, no dice out in the middle but we did really well about 30 feet of water between Black Sands and the cove campground on the way to the narrows. Most seemed to be hanging out in front of that 1st little pump station...
