Crappie fishing is really improving on Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley. Big fish are being caught along the drops using minnows at 20' to 22'. The warming trends have triggered the crappie bite as well as put the fishermen on the water. Smallmouth have started moving to the mouths of the major bays on Kentucky Lake. Small jigs and spinnerbaits fished along the gravel shoreline are working best. Bluegill are slow. Catfish are fair below Kentucky Dam. All are being caught just off the bottom on a variety of baits. Sauger fishing has really improved below Barkley Dam. All are being taken on jigs tipped with minnows. The fish are 1' to 2' off the bottom. Largemouth are spotty at best.

www.kentuckylakebarkley.com
