Does anyone know were to find bladders for a 6 foot leigh toon? Some one told me that i might have to substitute in some creek bladders and that they might fit allittle funny was that good advice or was he just blowing smoke. Any information would really be helpful, my wife really wants to get back out and that the only boat i have for her so i would like to get it fix up before ice off.

Hey welcome to the site. Bladders for the old leighs can be tricky to get a hold of. I know sportsmans years ago (about 10) had Bucks bags make some replacement bladders out of urethane. I purchased two then due to one of the rubber bladders failing at the time. I did read on the Venture Outdoors website once that they did offer replacement bladders for the Leigh stuff. They were a little pricey but made out of their dura bladder material. All they needed was a pic of your toon and what style it was to fit them. I haven't seen this posted on their website as of late though. I did send an email to Bucks bags and waiting for their response. I will let you know what they say when I hear back. Hope this helps!!![cool] I am currently rebuilding/fixing the second toon I picked up this last fall to make it usable for my liking. Had to replace all the velcro on the frame, I need to have a foot rest made to replace one that I was told is now sitting on the bottom of Pelican Lake due to the previous owners nephew, and add all my extras to make it more comfortable for fishing (such as rod racks, motor mount, Fishfinder, etc...) .

[#000050][#4040ff]Bucks bags was a bust. I know I will need a new set before too long so I will keep my eyes open. Also let me know what you find out as well.[/#4040ff][cool][/#000050]

Thank you so much i would appreciate that its has been about a year since i have been able to use that toon i have been told so many things about the leigh toons that it is good to heir some one who actually know what they are talking about. My wife will be excited to here that she might be able to come out with me again. So thank you again for all the information that you have given me i was about to give up on it and just use the frame for spare parts but you have given me hope again i will look forward to hearing from you.

So what is exactly wrong with the bladders?

when I inherited it form my dad he was having problems keeping air in both toons he had patched a few wholes in them and by the time I got to have it he had just thrown both bladders away so i just need replacements. He just about got rid of the frame when he got his new creek and i saved it from that so I just want to hopefully get it fixed up for my wife because she really enjoys using mine. which takes away time for myself.

If venture outdoors is unable to replace the bladders. I can inflate mine and measure the diameter then you can purchase replacement bladders and covers from any manufacturer that would fit. I may end up doing that in a few years.
