Guess I better post even when the fishing isn't so great.
Hit Rockport Friday about 4 hours in the afternoon at a spot I caught some good perch before.
One dink perch in all that time, so fished for trout with one pole about 12 foot down in 50 feet of water. Eventually caught 3 pretty good trout, but really slow.
At dusk was getting bites on the trout pole but didn't hook it on two good bites, then noticed the hook on my ice fly was bent back!! No wonder! Straightened it out and got it on the next bite.
Just a reminder to always check your hook and the point for any damage. I think I might have caught the hook on the ice when bringing it up out of the hole. Also, I'm an old codger now and don't see very well.
The edges were really solid where I entered on the east side. Still a solid 6 plus inches of ice.
Good luck!
