While fishing in the Burbout Bash on Sunday at Holmes Crossing we watched 6 fisherman float away on a chunk of ice! We watched as the search and rescue was able to retrieve them after launching a boat from Anvil. I've never seen anything like it! Be careful out there!

So, how did you do? I was going to go, but the funds for motel, gas, and food was hard for me to come up with.

We didn't catch any burbout. It was really slow. We had a few bites and lost one at the hole. If your into wind surfing you would of had a great time. The wind on Saturday night was stout.

Made me think that now if a fellow would take a bit of plywood, some 2X4's and his trolling motor, he could build himself a little motor mount and screw it to the ice and do some trolling when you get tired of ice fishing

That is wacky! I wonder during the 3 hours they were afloat if they continued to fish?

Now that would increase the pucker factor just a bit. Cant imagine what you would be thinking as your iceberg drifted off to mid lake. Glad it all turned out well.

They would have been trolling at a pretty good speed!

[cool][#0000ff]If the Fuzzy one was part of the group he WOULD still be fishin'. "Wait a minute, guys...I think I've got another bite."[/#0000ff]

It just so happens I was apart of the crew that was on board the unlicensed ice berg. I have posted video on you tube from my i phone just seconds after the ice broke.

Glad you guys are all ok. So I assume that the rescue does not include your gear?? I guess gear can be replaced but sucks to lose it if you did.

Wow that initself is amazing. Glad that what could have been a disastrous outing turned out pretty darn good. I mean after all I seldom have that much excitement when I go fishing.

Thanks to search and rescue and Less who owns the
Buckboard Marina store we all are safe and ALL of our gear made it to shore. It is true a case of water drifted on its own. My friend nearly floated away with the case if water, as the video shows he was quick to react and made it off the small piece of ice before he was stranded. Make sure you visit Less and patronize his store if you are in the area, he has helped alot of people over the years and you never know what would of happend without his help. Thanks.
