Nite fished steelys on the clearwater several times. Only reason was we had to launch the boat at 3am to secure our hole.(ya its an illness) but never had the success we did as the sun came up. We used glowing jigs and caught one hen in three attempts in the dark. Sun up the fishing turned on>

You could get up on the ahsahka bridge and run lighted plugs like some of the locals. I had great success this fall with the "firefly" lineup of of jigs. The red glowstick seemed to way outproduce the green glowstick. I'd stop by CCH in lewiston and see what they have to offer.

I've done very well at night on steelhead. I fish black or purple jigs that are bulked up for more profile, or fresh eggs tied up in bags, both under a bobber with a glow stick. Glow stuff works ok under a bobber but I have done better with the setup I described. Now if you have a good run that you can bottom drift, a guy can't beat a glow in the dark wobble glo with a little yarn and scent, drifted along bottom. those wobble glo's irritate the hell out of steelhead and they just crush them. Fish them just like a corkie.

I have only caught eight steelhead in my life but 4 of them have been at night on glow in the dark corkies with yarn.

Pulled steelies out of the L. Salmon in the dead of night by lantern light, using whatever I found laying on the bank.
