Just wondering if anyone out there has been to Mantua recently. Haven't seen anything for while on here about there. Any update is appreciated!

If it's safe, we will be there with the kids in the morning. You are welcome to come and join us -- we have lots of room in our tent. It would also be nice to meet someone to go with since my friends have ditched us for the seventh time this year.

Seven times?? Crazy! I am debating between Hyrum and Mantua. I hooked a nice brown around 22" last week at Hyrum and the hook broke at the hole. But I want to try to get some bluegill. I probably won't decide until morning.

the past few weeks have been fairly slow up there. I have tried several times and have gotten a few fish. Most people are not getting more than a small bluegill or two.

You might check the other recent report. They didn't say anything about the fishing, but did mention soft spots - even next to ATV tracks - and his bud went thru.
I'd expect if you follow the main trails out, and go where folks have you should be fine. Hyrum was holding up well last week. Though there's times that ice gets singing and checking right underneath you - and it's kinda spooky!
Can't make it out today - get to go to work instead, but I'm hopeful I can sneak out tomorrow morn. Not sure where - still wanna hit Newton. Maybe it's time to rig up a plank.
