Went to Hyrum last night. First time in a while we had much luck over there. It was good, between the three of we caught about 20 rainbows in an hour or two. Not great but much better then the last few trips. Now to the the " lucky catch" part, that night one the bows broke my dads line. It wasn't huge or anything. Well this morning we thought we'd go back since the fishin was ok, got there at first light had ten fish each in the first hour, kept a pretty good pace all morning. One of the fish my dad landed today was the same one that broke his line the night before, so he was able to get his lure back. That was the Lucky Catch! Kind of a funny coinsidence. Over all a great morning, the both of us landed over 100 bows together, kept 3 for dinner and saved the rest for next time.

Nice! That is a lucky catch. I was at Hyrum today by the inlet. Had a good morning. Lost a beautiful bow at the hole - she was most likely 22-24". Made me sick. My buddy was right there ready to grab her. Unfortunately, the little ice fly on the end of the line didn't set good enough. Oh well, part of the excitement. Same thing happened last week with a brute of a brown, but my hook broke. Not too good 0 for 2 on the big ones. I have to land one!!

Ditto here. 0-2 on the lunkers this winter. First was at Mantua, and 2nd one this morning.

Sounds like there's still some good action out there. Always the hope for a lunker! Any perch of notice? I'd still like to track down those dinkers uncles, aunts, mommies and daddios!
Looks like I won't be able to make it out today either. Sux. I think I'll need a mid-week venture to make up for it!
I caught maybe 7 or so perch, only 2 worthy of keeping, but I tossed them back.

Yeah there is always hope of a lunker. That's sucks to have them get off at the hole, better luck next time. I too have been wanting to find the chubby perch. We didnt see any the last few trips.. Maybe next time.

Ended up with just over a dozen perch. That one I showed you was the only worthy camera shot- fattest perch I've caught at Hyrum.
At least they're making a good comeback in that lake.

Oh no worries, I'm always up for fishing. I ended up in Idaho and did pretty good this weekend just not as good as you. This week may be a slow work week for me, so I'll give you a call.
