It's about that time. Pre-spawn is upon us, and the coves full of are carp are about to fill up with nests n big mommas, so toss in your two cents when the gettin starts really gettin good

I was poking around in that big cove in front of the scenic over look on wednesday, sun was going down, I'd been pitching soft plastics all day, n finally BAM! The first and only large mouth I've caught, or seen this year - and in shallow water too - I've been walking the shore line for the past couple weeks looking down from cliff sides and high points for bass, nests, or bait fish and haven't see much till this little guy zoomed out from a crack and took my orange and chartreuse curly tail grub. Still been lookin and pitchin but no luck since...I get carp fever too easily

Now I got to get out there and bag a few[cool] Any pics? Did you eat em?

So. I got a crazy hair up my bass last night and decided to try for some big cats in an area I'd never been, but always wanted to hike down to that seemed like it might have the right conditions - well I get down into the little canyon, sun just went down, and stumble upon a little bass paradise instead of a catfish haven - Reeds, logs, still water, big boulders, everything!! But I can't see much, and coyotes started howling closer n closer, so I packed up after an hour and left. So I go home, dream about bass, and wake up at 6 this morning and discover this perfect place. I caught 6 bass in this little place!!! I don't think a single one had ever even seen a lure - Bass season has begun.

Thanks dude!!! I couldn't believe it when I started catchin em it was badddddd asssss! I've been seein em more and more at the lake I'm gettin pretty excited, havin tons of intense fishing dreams lol I'm usually pretty chill with coyotes, but the place I went to is so damn remote, and I started gettin spooked after seein their eyes real close from my head lamp, that at the howling - they get so intimidating

Great job man! Way to fill out a limit.
I'm fishing out of Temple Bar tomorrow, and I am going to put a hurtin' on some bass lips.

There is some good fishing to the east past striper cove.
On the right hand side before the narrows are some cliffs that the tournament guys nail em. (non-striped kind)
As you leave the marina just stay to he left, go pass the sandy areas till you get to the cliffs. Also in the opposite direction Bonnelli has some good bass also.
Thats my 2 cents, you may already know the area.
Good Luck.
We will be at the NSC tourny this week end.

How long is the drive to temple bar whizzle. I have never been over there.

Yea I know that feeling its super fun when you can get into a bunch of em.[cool] and Whizzle if he wanted us to know the spot he would of posted it. I have also had my fair share of yote encounters some good some bad. Most of the time they run from you. But us cowboys know yote howls are the true song of the west.[cool]
My avatar shows a bold yote who was tryin to pick a fight with me after he saw me lugging a stringer of fish up the hill. There was anothor time at night I had my fathers dogs had both of em on a cheap walmart leash they saw a yote and went ballistic breaking the leash and chasing the yote over a mile I followed the crys into the darkness I felt so scared by the time I got there they tore the young yote to bits our dogs had to go to the vet aswell it was

It's a good hour from Mead. Once you turn off the main highway to AZ you drive about 29 miles to Monkey Hole area then another 18 or so to Temple Bar. The drive down it long but coming home with fish not so bad.
Note to anyone who is looking to rent a deck boat out of Callville they are 1/2 price for now. Call them and ask for a rate also locals get a discount.
Thats it until Sunday I'm going to the beach for the NSC tourny.
