Everyone knows the show, and the theme song, though they might have changed the intro. I've searched and searched for the lyrics but couldn't find them, everyone wants to sell the ringtone. Its a short song so I decided to write the lyrics out. I'm not sure about the white river part, let me know if you think I made any mistakes. Maybe closed captions on TV would be the best way to find out.

[center][font "Comic Sans MS"][#000050][size 3]He's a great American fisherman,
he'll fish anywhere.
Anywhere there's water, Lord knows he'll be there.
He's just like a gypsy, mighty hard to hold.
Great American fisherman, got fishin' in his soul.

Martin and Eufaula he goin' fish em all,

Kentucky lake and Barkley, Sardis, Ross Barnett,
Toledo Bend and Rayburn and Conroe he wont forget,
he loved lake of the Ozark, he loved Table Rock,
those shows on the white river, he aint goin' never stop.

He's a great American fisherman,

he'll fish anywhere.
Anywhere there's water, Lord knows he'll be there.
He's just like a gypsy, mighty hard to hold.
Great American fisherman got fishin' in his soul.

SET THAT HOOK!

The lyric about the white river I am certain is “ Old Shoals on the white river”. Shoals indiana is my hometown and the white river runs right through the town and is known for giant flathead catfish. We even have a catfish festival every year.

Thats a long time to wait for a reply but yeah, I finally caught it with captions, found it somewhere and put it on CD, then listened to it several times a day since, until the judge ordered me to stop..
Gypsies ARE hard to hold, and they bite.

He popularized the concept of "pattern" fishing – determining a particular way to catch fish for a given time and lake, and then applying it to similar locations around that lake. He has been an able and enthusiastic spokesman for bass fishing, conservation, and the pursuit of the American dream for decades, generating a large following of fans.
Pattern fishing to me is a combination of failure and disappointment, with a lot of hopelessness swirled with pain.
