I have been bouncing an idea around in my head for a bit and was wondering what you guys thought of it...

We all seem to want to do something about the mess we see at our favorite local reservoir. We all seem to be at a loss as how to go about doing something about it.

I was thinking of having a raffle. The prize will be a "lake mead striper rod" that I craft myself. I have built several rods and am confident anyone would like to own one. I am not gonna go crazy spending a lot of money.. just a modest rod that will commemorate the day.

In order to get tickets for the raffle, you must turn in bags of trash. One bag = one ticket. Large items will count as a bag.

Like I said the rod won't be anything special... but it will say something like 33 hole cleanup spring 2011 on the side...

Biggest problem I have is I work an on-call schedule so it's hard to pin down a date.

Anyone interested?

GOOD ON YA MAN! I'm on the Utah board but was born in Nevada so look at the board on occasion. One of my real sore points is human trash leaving their trash behind. Of course we have the same kinda trash here that you do there. I always pack out at least a bag of some other trash's trash. I'm 71 now so cant pull off what I once did & make 'em clean up after themselves if I see them leaving trash behind. We on the UT board pull off a cleanup every once in a while but it's hard to tell where we've been after the next weekend. Keep up the good work!

Looks like we need to contact them and BYOB (bring your own bags) but they give you a code for free access to the lake.

I will help clean the trash hole but not the second weekend of any month.
