I want to try my hand at catching live bait. I have caught live smelt on those live bait rigs but it takes to long.[unsure]

I bought an umbrella net but need some place in LB or Seal Beach to catch some smelt of chovies.

Any help will be appreciated[Wink]

goto the baytubers site...look around they have some bait makin' locations that they have posted...with directions... like mothers beach, belmont , sealbeach pier....etc.. hope it helps you. or you can buy them from bigfish bait & tackle in sealbeach... corner of seal beach blvd & pch if you are short on time and want to spend time fishin instead of makin bait...

Thanks for the info. I have tried Norms a couple times and there are always out of live smelt [unsure]

I found a good little spot near college downaround Palo Verde and Studebaker next to the school. I threw some bread out and within 5 minutes I had 3 large schools of smelt.

I suck with the net so I will use that live bait rig instead [cool]
