San Antonio, Texas - Collegiate anglers throughout the country may begin registering online for the 2011 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship. Registration will close on May 1 and the final field will be announced on May 5. Due to the incredible growth in the number of contestants since 2006, the 2011 championship field will be capped at 150 two-person teams. Register here.

The City of Lewisville, Texas will once again host this prestigious event that features a week of activities culminating with the crowning of the 2011 national champions. The event will get underway the evening of May 24 when the competitors gather for Cabela's Collegiate Night at the company's Ft. Worth, Texas retail store location. Every collegiate team in attendance will enjoy a shopping spree with several top professional anglers on hand providing seminars and shopping assistance. In addition to the shopping spree provided by Cabela's, each team competing in the event will receive a travel allowance. Numerous prizes, including incentive awards provided by sponsors, will be awarded to the top finishers.
On the evening of May 25th, competitors will attend the sponsor appreciation national championship banquet held at the City of Lewisville Convention Center. Sponsor representatives will display their products and services while providing the anglers with samples and information. Competition begins on May 26th and concludes with the crowning of the 2011 national champions on May 27th. All tournament day activities are open to the public and will take place at Sneaky Pete's which is located on the shores of Lake Lewisville.

Extensive television coverage of the championship event will be seen on the Versus network from August -October 2011. Each episode will premiere on a Sunday afternoon and repeat during the week. The television series will also feature coverage of the Big Bass Bash presented by Hydrowave, the Collegiate Bass Fishing Open presented by Pepsi and several regional events sanctioned by the Association of Collegiate Anglers.
