I'm looking for a new river to fish and thought I would head to the Oneida Narrows. Questions: are there any access problems this time of year as far as closed roads, etc. (I assume it's not too difficult to find)? Where is there decent inexpensive lodging close by? thanks.

May want to post this on the Idaho forum also, maybe more help.

High way all the way to Oneida Narrows,Dirt road fallows the river up stream, not sure if they plow it. Easy to find, might be lodging right there in Riverdale. Good fishery.

I've stayed at the motel in Riverdale, it would be nice and close. I was rather disappointed when we found out our sheets hadn't been changed from the last people, and when the manager asked how the room was and we told him, all he said was "it's hard to find good help these days."
That was several years ago, maybe it's better now.
As for access, I've been up there this time of year and the roads weren't bad, though there was a lot of snow from that last storm we had. I hear they keep it clear for the power plant workers, so hopefully it will be okay.
