My son in-law and I used this site to sign up for the fishing derby at Devils Creek in Idaho. Then we were looking for information on the ice off at Daniels Res outside of Malad. Then we started looking for info on Causy for ice off fishing. Anyone gone to Causy lately? Is the ice starting to receed yet enough to fish? We both love to Ice Fish and also fly fish.

Welcome to the site SS. It sounds like you have been reading the main utah board. This is a national board, so it would be better to ask your question on the utah board. Please let us know if you need help finding your way around the different boards.

You are fine, I was not sure if you knew this was a national board, that is why I threw that out there.
On another note, I see that you are retired and live in the same area I do. Are you mainly a trout fisherman or do you get out to Willard and chase those warm water fish?

Howell used to be the pheasant capital of the West. However, with everything else it has gotton over used and neglected. My dad used to teach us to respect the game and we would set aside food plots for them. I went out last year and its all in weeds and disrepair. Sad

Well that is too bad. Years ago, they claimed to plant 500 pheasant there every year and charged $30 to hunt during the season. They would even put on a big turkey dinner after the opening morning shoot. It was good times[].
How about your user name, how did you come up with it? The reason I ask is because I use to work on the F4 Phantom and thought that might be where you got the name.

When i was a kid there used to be only one club The Howell Gun Club. Then everybody got greedy and formed their own. So the quality really took a nose dive. I retired from the Air Force in 1986. J43171C Aircraft repaire and reclamation with battle damage and crash recovery. I loved the F4. Didn't care much for the hole it left in the ground sometimes. So I cross trained over to Plans and Scheduling 43390. Sounds like we have a lot in common

I found this site while doing a search for Kayak Fishing forums in Utah. I currently live in California and am apart of the NCKA but often go back home to Utah to visit family and want to bring my fishing gear with me (kayak included). []

I only been fishing for two years (18 months of not knowing what the hell I was doing) until my friend put me up on bass and crappi fishing. Now Im trying to learn all I can about fishing. And what better way to learn than talking to other angler's. I think I found a fishing home.
