Just curious if you can use pontoon boats on Weston or Deep Creek? And if so, how is the fishing at both these lakes once the ice if gone. I usually throw flies from my toon.
Thanks,
Justin

Deep creek you can toon. Weston float tube only no motors boats or toons. Deepcreek is pretty good fishin throughout the year more of a put and take you will come across a decent fish once in awhile. Weston I don't fish it but maybe someone else can chime in

You pretty much covered it.
It is float tubes only on Weston, and I don't know how it will be fishing after ice out. Throughout the ice season there have been fairly negative reports on it. Also check your regulations on Weston, there are special regs there on bass.
On Deep Creek Res there are special regulations on the cutthroats there.

Weston was great late summer early Fall last year. Bad winter reports. Just have to see how it is this Spring. I will never understand the float tube vs. Pontoon regulation, but it is the way it is and I know they enforce it.

I have never much cared for the trout fishing in Weston. heard stories of decent trout but I have never seen one in person there. The Bass fishing is really good, but they have special regs if you are planning on keeping them. My favorite thing about Weston is the perch. They go nuts in the spring when they spawn and you can catch some decent sized ones.

Has anyone ever asked why? I don't see the reason. A toon without a motor is no different than a float tube in my opinion. Ron

I asked. They said it was at the request of the canal company.
I think they are way behind the times. I don't see the difference either.
Maybe they don't want to get complaints about the lack of a place to launch from. You have to carry your tube in a ways in one area, or else carry it a shorter distance up by the dam but launch from a steeper bank.
