Wiperslayer and I hit the Rock again today, same spot as last Sat. We wanted to see if catching those perch last week was just a fluke or if we could do a repeat. Well the trout catching was a lot slower, only 20 today but the perch catching was better, with 20 on the ice. Ice is going fast, another week with the temps we have had this week and I'm not sure I would try it again. The holes we drilled last Sat had not froze solid, so we were able to just push on the holes and the ice broke. When we left around 1pm, just about every step walking back to shore went through the top frozen layer, about 4". For anyone going out there tomorrow, be careful and watch for those old holes, we saw a guy go through one today, up to his knee.

Thanks Jim, yea another fun day at the Rock[Smile]. I kept 15 of the largest perch from 8" to that big one which was 10.5", most were 9.5". Ira and I caught half or more on your white Y tail jigs. It was hot and fast the first thing in the morning with the fish ripping off the Y tails if we did not keep them baited. We started off with wax worms but found that a 1 inch piece of crawler was the hot ticket. After a while my son and a couple of his friends come out and fished near us. On his first drop Chris caught a bass but they also caught a few nice perch and his friend caught this 18" brown.

that looks like a cutt. I didn't know they had any cutts in Rockport. Must have come in from Weber River Tribs.
nice fish.

[cool]WH2, thanks for the report. That is very encouraging to see any of those little yellow n black stripers on the hard deck at the rock. Hopefully with this big snowpack, they'll have a great spawn this Spring and we'll really start getting a comeback this year for next ice season. I'm really pleased to hear this news!
