This past Saturday March 12th Crappie USA held a qualifying event at the Lake Point Marina on Lake Eufaula, Alabama where a cold front just 24 hours prior to the event had left waters much like solid mud and ready to be plowed. "Conditions were so bad that many of the teams that had spent much of the week pre-fishing packed up and went back to the house after not catching a single fish under the adverse conditions of the lake", said Crappie USA CEO Darrell Van Vactor. "Eufaula is a great Crappie fishery, but the weather prior to the tournament and super muddy water offered up the worst fishing conditions I have seen in years", said Van Vactor.

The anglers that stayed were competing for not only cash and prizes, but a chance to advance to the prestigious Cabela's Crappie USA Classic. This year's classic will be held October 12-15, 2011 on the Kentucky/Barkley Lakes at Paris, Tennessee.
