Im getting sick of driving up to the Southfork of the Clearwater to have it be muddier than all heck.we went up yesterday and one day each week going back the last 3 weeks it has been chocolate milk.we didn't let it stop us from fishing but we never touched a fish. so the wife and i will be headed to Riggins bright and early in the morning hopefully the water will be in better shape. any body had any reports from the little salmon? thats where i would like to give it a whirl.

I have a buddy that exclusively fly fishes and he bagged one out of there this past weekend. You might try the confluence, they should be starting to stack up in there getting ready to ascend the little.

Little Salmon was blown out i mean blown way way out water was about 2 feet too high and chocolate milk!!!!!!! all sorts of debri. we went down to the park hole and fished for a couple hours it was borderline muddy so we tried it but never touched a single fish. im starting to get a little red in the face when i start thinking of how this spring steelhead season has been going for me.

This is not the report I was hoping to hear from you. I'm headed up tomorrow...any suggestions? Maybe I should stay on my side of the mountain and try Shoup.

i would try shoup. the river above the little salmon was a pretty clear green color yesterday but we couldnt get to it because the road from 95 is closed. headed to the north fork today. im trying o get my wife into her first steelhead so i really am not to worried if its a boot she just wants to catch one.
