Just looking for a little info. Are the water conditions favorble for bank fishing on the Snake from Blackfoot to Shelly? Hopefully the water is clear and the ice on the shores is minimal.

We usually don't catch a lot of fish in that stretch, but the quality of fish can be worth it. It's a decent drive from Utah and the gas prices are going to be harsh, hence the questions.

Disclaimer: Yes I'm currently a Utard. My parents are Idaho natives and I spent a lot of my childhood at my grandparents in Basalt. Idaho is my home away from home Smile

Thanks

[cool][#0000ff]I was just up in Shelley and Blackfoot...visiting relatives (no fishing). Drove along the river in several spots and it looked pretty good. Still clear but coming up and some color. No snow or ice to fight.[/#0000ff]

I don't have a first hand report , but I live in Blackfoot and work in Shelley . The river is getting hammered . There are alot of people fishing . I am seeing the same trucks in the same areas so I would bet they are catching fish or why would they be going back to the same place . Curt G.

I have fished it a little but not to hard. I havent had alot of luck so far this year but curt is right there is so many people i havent been able to get to my normal spots. Last year I know that once they opened up the canal gates you could fish the mouths of them and do alright.

Looks to be rainy Sunday, but that might keep away some other fisherfolks Smile
