I contacted the F&G RCO here in the Magic Valley region. He is the friend of mine Gary Hompland that cleared up the possession limit question.
I asked about U tubes and V style tubes like the FC4 for Float tube only areas. He said that in our area if your butt is wet you are probably fine. I asked how come the definition was worded such that it favors the old round belly boat style. He said that in his opinion the newer style is not a big benefit in a technological stand. He said the definition has probably never been looked at to be updated.
He also said that if a group got together and asked the commission to alter the definition to allow the newer style float tubes He thought it might get changed.
Then I asked him. Isn't silver creek a navigable stream? he said yes. In fact a person could legally take a canoe down the creek as long as they didn't fish from it.
So if we wanted to get together and change the definition and submit it to the F&G commission we could get it changed.
