Finally got back to fishing awhile today after mowing and yard work had been getting in the way of my fun the last couple of days. The water was quite a bit lower than the last time I was out. We fished from around 9:00 until 12:30 and caught 3 bass and 8 crappie in an average of 5-7 ft. of water. Debbie caught a 3.3 lb. bass early in the HBSP slough and we worked our way around some other sloughs and picked up a few crappie on BG jigs and a Charlie Bee Slider. There's a bass in the HBSP slough that was trying to shake a Rat-L-Trap ( not mine ) out of it's mouth that we watched for about 45 minutes. It must have tried a dozen times and you could just hear the lure rattle everytime it shook it's head. It was a nice bass - I hope it finally worked it out of there. Water temp was around 61.5 and the wind picked up 'again" after 12:30 or so we said maybe we'll just go back out tomorrow morning instead of fighting the wind. We watched an electro-fishing survey for awhile going on in the HBSP slough around 1:00 and looked like they were netting quite a few fish but couldn't really tell what they were putting in the boat.
