According to the post register, the Bureau of Reclamation will be closing the road on top of Palies dam in May 2012. They did not mention anything about alternatives for getting to the other side. I really hate that they are doing this. This seem quite different from the press release they posted here a few years ago. Here is their list of proposals.

But here it looks like they are going to build a 310' bridge just below the damn in the old bridge location.

That makes good sense to me and should make everyone happy. No more worrying about the landslide area any more with this alternative and still have access to the campgrounds and hunting areas.
