Ive got two reports here. My brother and I hit Sand Hollow in Utah on Sun the 19th and then Undurtow and I hit Lake Mohove this past Saturday.
Sand Hollow is a nice little place. We launched there about 7 and the wind didnt allow us to work finesse baits very well. We were getting blown around and just couldnt settle down over the structure. We ended up with 6 largemouth, the largest was just short of 2.5lb throwing cranks near shore structure.
Undurtow and I launched at Cottonwood on Friday night and drove 20+ miles up the river to our secret pig striper cove and again missed a huge blowup. (three blowups missed now) After getting slapped up river, we headed for mohave at first light to throw some topwater and see what happens. We worked a few coves south of cottonwood and finally picked up a 1.5lb smallmouth and a nice fatty 3.7 pound largemouth. We had another fish lost near the boat. We only fished for a few hours and again the wind started getting nasty and we had to call it.
On sunday, I went for a ride through the narrows and over to the far side of the virgin basin. I was exploring for some new bass spots and found a few promising locations. I had only one hit on Sunday and it was huge. I was working a jig on my dropshot set-up with 8lb test and I hooked into a HUGE smallmouth. This guy was at least 4-6lbs and went aerial three times before he caughed up the jig. Dayum I was pissed. My biggest smallie is only 2lbs![Sad Sad](https://bigfishtackle.com/forum/images/smilies/sad.png)
Good Times. Heres some pics.![Smile Smile](https://bigfishtackle.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.png)
