Oh yeah forgot. I tried that drop shot rig cuz I wanted to get the bait off the floor a bit. Most of the fish I was marking was a couple feet from the bottom. I had a pole already rigged so I gave it a shot and it worked. When I go with the kids this weekend I think I am going to do the same thing except I was going to use a 3 way swivel and have a short leader line.. that way the bait might be able to move a bit more to entice the fish. Also I cut up half a bag of 'chovies into really small pieces and put them in a mesh bag tied to the boat for chum. They really put off a lot of oily residue for several hours. I also gps marked where I dumped them.. maybe after a few trips I'll have a nice little chum hole ![Smile Smile](https://bigfishtackle.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.png)
If the weathers nice the kids and I are going out Sat. I am going to try'n get a lot of shad and just anchor up and have a fun day baitfishin' w/ the kids. I hope that bird comes back and give the kids a nice show as well
.
Also I did not mention, but as I was netting shad, almost every foot of the bank that had weeds had carp blissfully mating. They sure are loud.
