First time running the boat below Swan. Launched right at sunrise below the dam aimed mostly at catching sturgeon but had bass and catfish gear too. The water is very high, full of lots of debris. First spot produced nothing so we moved on. We had our sturgeon rods out at the second spot but it also was producing nothing so Jo suggested I flip the fish finder on for a second and after a minute a few fish showed up. Jo decided to worm up one of our spinning rods and drop it off the side of the boat. About a minute after that the rod hits and we both are like "what!?!" we have three sturgeon rods out and this sturgeon decides to hit the spinning rod with a worm on it directly under the boat. We did our best and managed to keep it on long enough for it to jump next to the boat (about 5ft estimate give or take) and eventually it of course broke our line. The rest of the day consisted of a lot of absolutely nothing. Not a fish of any kind. Tried sturgeon, bass, and catfish and not a dang thing. This combined with breaking a hook off in a sturgeon, and the day (except the nice weather) sucked. Hopefully the next time out will be a little more productive. I also attached a picture of Jo right after that happened. It's pretty funny and basically illustrates our mood at the time. Hope the rest of you made better use of the beautiful day we had.
