Anybody have any recent intel on the launching conditions at Hite. The latest on Wayne's is from the end of January. Planning a possible trip down next week since my plans for this week got blown up with a monster cold front![pirate]
Wayne's says lake level 3606 to 3616 you can launch at the primitive ramp at Hite. Currently looks like the lake level is 3611 so that sounds good. I want to know if I can do it without teaching my truck to swim?

Thanks for any info.

I was at hite last fall and it was all dried out. Seemed like they were still launching boats along some packed down dirt roads though. We had a small boat, much smaller than yours and were able to get it in the water in farlys. Don't know much about hite in the spring but kinda remember hearing about lots of debris, making it a little dangerous for props. Why don't you just meet me down in page or wahweap. I plan on camping at lone rock with a small group leaving Friday the 8th till Wednsday the 13 th and probably meeting up with pezvela a couple mornings to fill the coolers with lunch and dinner. If your going solo you could always hang with us have a drink and share the campfire. You have my number Todd you should use it more often. [Tongue]I am sure you just want to target the eyes upstream but I am hoping they will be further south too. If not I can settle for bass and cappie. [fishon].

Btw I got some pictures of knights hollow last week it's allmost ice free but the water is way low and I am sure the eyes will be spawning on the other inlet or somewhere other than there. Only a trickle coming out last week.

Thanks for the offer FOD. We're scheduled for the 14th through the 18th. We like to go to the Good Hope area and hit walleyes, crappies, and stripers. I know that earlier this year, and even last month there was quite a few larger boats launching at Hite, but I also know the waters been dropping so trying to get some up to date intel if possible. [:/]It's less than half as long a run from Hite to Good Hope as it is from Bullfrog. We went from Bullfrog last year and will probably do that again unless I get something that tells me otherwise.
Thanks so much for the invite, wish the schedules were more aligned. Hope you have a great trip though!!! [cool][fishin]

dose anybody know if there is still dry storage at hite. The web sites say there is but I'm not sure if that was before the low water.

Did you actually launch and recover a boat? I saw a report on Wayne's yesterday from Sunday that said it had dropped and was so silted they had a difficult time recovering their boat. Said they had a roller trailer and that's the only thing that saved them as they had to crank it on the trailer. I'm not wanting to dunk my truck so that's really the type of info I'd like to get.
Is it possible to launch and recover at Hite without submerging the drive train on my truck?

Todd, I heard the same launching at Hite now is bad news, I did the silt launch a couple of years of go at Hite and it was a mess. The good news is that allot of Walleyes being caught in the Bullfrog area. I have been watching the weather and it looks like another bad weekend coming up , dam wind!!! U been to Starvation yet?
