This just breaks my heart as I have a 4 yr old boy, and we love to fish and at Utah Lake too...

Dang that is terrible! I have a 4 yr old who is an independent little bugger and hearing about things like this scares the dickens out of me! Hope the little guy pulls through.

Sure hope this has a happy ending! [:/]
What a solemn reminder for anyone with young children. It seems that every year we get this unfortunate reminder whether it's boating, raging spring runoff, or just swimming accidents. Let's all take this to heart and try to be safe this year.

Sad indeed. Hope for the best for them.
How easy it is. Just at a community pond yesterday, numbers of kids coming around - some with folks, some without. Small pond, shallow - I'm sure nothing like the UL shores.
But one little toddler too a step too close, and put a quick end to daddy's fly fishing practice. He didn't like fall in and float, just slipped in - at least waist/chest deep. Just a crying up a storm after - poor kid was so surprised and shocked, and cold I'm sure!
Keep em close, and keep an eye, or two on em.
Safe journeys.
Thanks for posting. Good tap on the shoulder in regards to safety.
