Whats the water level at pineview looking like?

Last friday it was open and down 20'. They were dumping it in preparation for the runoff that I am assuming is now coming so it may be on the rise.

"stopped releasing water from pineveiw"

NOT THE CASE!

North Fork has been flood stage for three days and dumping Colorado (brown) water into the View. I'm sure the other tributaries are running the same. Ogden River below the dam is running bank full and has been for nearly three weeks. Lake level is about 20' down below the bathtub ring from high water. With all the water dumping in compared to what's running out, the lake level has got to be on the rise. Water temp ranged from 45 - 52 degrees depending where I was on the lake last Friday. Water color was murky and can only be getting worse now. [crazy]

I was just repeating what I had heard on the news, they said they had stopped releasing water from echo and pinveiw as the ogden and weber rivers were near or at flood stage in anticipation of all the rain we are suppose to get. I ride the frontrunner over the river every day and today it was extremely high and had the color of chocolate milk.

According to the Usgs the Ogden river below pineview is currently at 1030 cfs. That's a heavy flow for the Ogden.

No problem Matt and ditto on the rivers flowing into PV.

On the way home today, the concrete plant on West 24th Street near Flying J was on the verge of being flooded. In fact, some of the semi trailers parked nearby were sitting in about 18" of flood water. Let's hope things don't get any worse.

Some sucky news from pineview. It hopefully won't affect their numbers but it seems like such a waste.

Drove up yesterday to check out the view. If I had to guess it's only 12-15 feet from high water mark with a lot of snow in the back ground.

thanks for all the replies glad to hear the water temp isnt to cold wont be long til pv starts getting hot! I am ready

It sounds like mostly the fish getting dumped out to the river are the 1-2 year old sized fish.

I think overall this may help the population. The View needes some thinning out of these small fish. Not to mention they might just be the weak survivors that were put back down ice fishing holes.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. It isn't like this happens every year.

So if you were on the lake last Friday, how was the fishing?[:p]

The fishing was GREAT!

Catching left a lot to be desired. Marked a lot of fish in certain areas but by then the wind picked up and I couldn't drop shot very effective and didn't want to anchor. Maybe next time?????? [cool]
