Hey I'm Spencer, I am just starting up fishing and I am coming here for help and advice, I have tried using lizards and worms with the spin tail using the carolina rig, but at the moment since it's spawning season I'm not catching anything but bluegill. I am also getting spinnerbaits and senko worms soon.

Sorry, I am from Indiana and I fish in the stocked lakes surrounding my town of Brownsburg, such as neighboor lakes where i have caught many fish using hard topwater baits but i find more fun out of soft baits cause you need to make them look alive. If anyone can help me out i have heard about Senkos and yum dingers that are good i already got u tails and i am getting a new rod soon since mine snapped last night due to a log, rock, or turtle, I need some advice on rod selection, the one that snapped was a cheapy $11 rod. Hmm maybe 40-60 dollars for a rod, 40-60 for a reel, and line and bait i know what i am looking for.

I'm a fan of shimano for their warrenty and strength. Here's one on sale now at bass pro. The fast tip helps you when you fish your hard baits. Good all around rod. For worms I like a stiffer tip. As you get the bass bug, you'll add more rods to fit the bait/lure used.
