Tried Willard this morning. Took the Wife and canoe. We got there around 9ish. Fished till 1. Air temps were 38 to start 48 to finish. Almost no wind. Tried tight off the North dike and we got 1 good hit. Back and forth twice and no repeat. There were a BUNCH of fish tight to the dike no deeper then 8 feet. Figured they were spawner cats or Walleye the way they clung in structure. Tried the north marina and thereabouts for some crappie and Nothing doing. I spoke to 5 boats and 4 shore fishermen. Nothing but 2 cats landed.
I did fish out of the north marina and noted fish deeper, but I was after Walleye and Crappie not the Wipers... Yet. Not the most beautiful day but fun. Tried jigs, and plugs. Ran out of blades for bottom bouncers.... Probably would not have caught anything anyways, but I do love to bottom bounce.
