Were you fishing the bear or the sloughs by the church?
I've heard tell Crappie stack up in those sloughs, but don't know when - and I'm not even sure where you can access those, except that spot by the church. I've never pulled anything out of there, though I have found bullheads and channels up towards the boat launch area.
And across the pallets to the river - seems a popular spot.

Right by the Benson bridge - seems like you can find lots of dinky bullheads on worms. Little peckers they are!
There was a nice report of some good looking channels from Cutler just last week. Kitty envy!

I'm hoping to find some of the bass, crappie, and walleye I hear rumored in them waters! Might need to go carp hunting while everything's flooded - get some good kitty bait!

If you just want some quick-easy tugs - you might try one of the community ponds. Fresh frisky bows.

I'm thinking Mantua needs to warm up a bit more. But I'm hoping to hit it soon - it got planted with a bunch of those young bows too.
Ya there are a few fish that get in the backwaters by the chruch when they drop the water most fish go up not down. Ive been fishing cutler for 20 years and its had its good years a few eyes a bass or two maybe a brown some times .. If you want to play the odds stay and fish the duck marsh,,,[Wink] go to williard and wack em its a fish jerk down there!

I don't think there's going to be much consistent action up here until this weather pattern stabilizes and we get some consistently warm days. I have to say that I've never seen the slough by the church so full. It could be interesting if we can get some warm weather. I could see the bass and crappie getting up into all that flooded vegetation. That could be some fun fishing.
