In April, there were only five days over 60 degrees. I'm so tired of the 50s. What a pain.

10 day forecast shows temps in the mid to high 60s, with 70s a possibility by the middle of next week. Here's hoping it will pan out, and the bass and crappie will finally start their pre-spawning patterns.

To answer your question: When I see frost on my lawn every morning, including today, no, I dont think it is warming up. I dont care what the forecasters say. If it gets to 70 next week I might just eat a nightcrawler myself. I am supposed to go out tomorrow afternoon to catch and tag bass in a private lake. Do I think I will have any success? No, the water is just too dang cold. But we can all hope for warmer weather, right? Next weekend I have a 2 day outing to Duck Valley. I expect to get snowed on and get frostbite on my toes during the night in my tent. Just my spring fishing 2011 pessimism!

Duck Valley can certainly be a crap shoot this time of year in terms of weather. I went down to Mtn. View on 4/30 and it was 39 degrees and snowing hard when I left at 4 in the afternoon. The fishing was really good, I caught about a dozen total and a couple of nice ones including this biggest one. It sort of made up for the winter like weather.

Nice fish! It makes it easier to put up with snow and ice when you can catch fish like that. I won't mind a little frost on the nose if I can do as well. Thanks for the report.
