good morning everyone. so I am pretty new to fishing and was just wondering what are some good baits to use to go catch some trout at grantsville res. Thanks for any info.

Probably don't need anything fancy. Just a bobber and nightcrawlers would do the trick. I'm sure there are folks here who've fished Grantsville quite a bit who can give more advice.

Try this. Get yourself some size 8 snap swivels and some 3/8 oz egg sinkers. The ones with the hole through the middle of them. Run your line through the hole and tie a snap swivel to the end of the line. make up a piece of leader about 18" long with a loop in each end. Put a snelled size 6 bait hook on one end of the leader and hook the other end to the snap swivel. With this setup, the fish can pick up the bait and move with it a ways before feeling the weight of the sinker so they are more likely to get it further into their mouths. For bait, I prefer putting a miniature marshmallow on the hook first and sliding it all the way to the eye of the hook then adding about a half a nightcrawler to the hook. The marshmallow will float the nightcrawler up off the bottom so it's easier for the fish to find. You can do the same thing with floating powerbait. Trouble with powerbait is there are so many options and it's kinda spendy in my opinion.
Good luck & have fun.
